Alfresco Poly Tunnel Dining

You will be met by a member of the Vallum team before setting off on a tractor and trailer for a short journey to our Kitchen Garden. You will then be treated to dishes created with seasonal produce from the kitchen of our restaurant and Chef’s Room whilst sat in our open sided poly tunnel amongst the raised beds. After your meal you can venture outside to our fire pit, straw bale seating and pop up bar.  Price includes: a welcome drink and canapés, a three course seasonal menu with an accompanying glass of selected wine with each course and hot chocolate with marshmallows to toast on the fire pit.  At the end of the evening our staff will guide you back by lantern to your carriages.

The menu is decided on the day depending on what produce is at its best in our Kitchen Garden.  We do of course cater for any dietary requirements and you will be prompted to let us know these details when booking.

£45 per person

Craft Beer & Vallum Pie Tasting

Join us at the Restaurant bar or in our Chef’s Room for a saunter through our selection of local beers and award-winning homemade pies. Northumberland has some wonderful producers such as Allendale Ale & Wylam Brewery, and paired with a selection of pies from the Restaurant kitchen this is a great way to spend time feasting with friends.  The experience lasts around 90 minutes.

Ice cream making course

Our award-winning handmade ice cream is truly local, made here in Vallum’s Little Dairy.
Our ice cream making course teaches you everything you need to know about producing your own ice cream at home – from how various ingredients work together in an ice cream to how different freezing methods can influence the texture and flavour of your ice cream.
The experience is held in our Vallum Little Dairy Lab and last about 2 hours.  Develop a flavour of your choice and go home with 4 litres of ice cream.

£150 per person.

Cooking experiences

Learn how to cook three bespoke courses with our chefs in the Vallum Restaurant kitchen. As this is your experience, you build a menu with our team to ensure that you decide what you want to gain from the course. This could be how to prepare cook and eat amazing food without gluten or elevating your cooking to the next level through the selective and creative use of spices, herbs and seasoning.

£150 per person for a half day course

£300 per person for a full day course.
